Common Voice Disorders
🔹 Vocal Nodules
Vocal nodules are small, benign swellings that form on both vocal cords due to prolonged voice strain — often seen in teachers, singers, and people who use their voice extensively.
Treatment: Voice therapy (speech therapy) is the main treatment. In resistant cases, microsurgical removal may be necessary.
🔹 Vocal Polyps
Vocal polyps are soft, often one-sided lesions that can develop after intense vocal effort or chronic irritation (such as smoking or reflux).
Treatment: Surgery (microlaryngoscopy) is usually required, followed by voice therapy to prevent recurrence.
🔹 Mutational Falsetto (Puberphonia)
Mutational falsetto is a high-pitched, adolescent-type voice that continues after puberty, often due to habitual misuse of voice or psychological factors.
Treatment: Usually corrected with voice therapy. In resistant cases, minimally invasive laryngeal procedures may be considered.
🔹 Vocal Cord Paralysis
Vocal cord paralysis occurs when one or both vocal cords lose their ability to move, often due to nerve injury after surgery, infection, or tumors.
Treatment: Depending on the cause and severity, treatment options include voice therapy, injection laryngoplasty, or surgical medialization procedures.

Each patient is evaluated with **endoscopic laryngeal examination**, **acoustic analysis**, and, if necessary, **stroboscopy** to determine the exact nature of the problem.
